Thanks GW!

This is exactly what wanted when I paid 55 dollar to supplement my Escher gang.

They Look just like on the picture. And so random. Good thing these weren't in the Gang box that I already have.

The Washes were nice and did their job though.

It's my understanding that they're very good about customer service, send them an email and see if they'll do anything for you.

Done!

"Thanks for the e-mail, I am afraid as it states these models are randomly supplied they are just that and we don't have control over the poses of the figures that reach you. However if you do get a selection of models you don't like we are always willing to swap unopened blisters for more. I hope this helps."

:/

And that's not really practical, sending blisters to England back and forth, waiting weeks.

Also, I call bullshit on 'random'. I think someone decided to dump leftovers on me because I was an anonymous customer.

I simply replied that it doesn't help me. Got a new helpful reply.

"It states in the product description 'A variety of designs are available and are supplied at random.' I hope this answers your question. Thanks."

Oh yeah, I'm feeling the variety here! And the randomness!

._. I'm just gonna let it be. My time is more valuable than those wasted 55$.

You're Arne, remember? you're more talented than John Blanche (and have a wider palette to boot), surely you can whip up some 5 minute conversions...

Arne said...

Well, Jes Goodwin sculpted these. In my eyes he's the best sculptor out there, but I don't really know a lot of sculptors.

I guess I could convert them. It's just a lot of work, which I hadn't planned on doing. On the other hand, I am learning to sculpt with GS, so maybe some of these can be test subjects.

If you want to be shrewd about it, you can just call them and say they're damaged. Give them the serial number on the box and they'll send you a replacement. Free stuff!

The thing is, fellow Anon, that Mr.Cottonbottom here already contacted them twice about the same subject, they either already asked him for the serials or cross-referenced them from the shipping database if he used the same E-mail address associated whit his purchase.

Besides, he DOES need to stretch his puttypushing muscles...

I've already started a bit with a 1:72 female. I'm gonna have to lengthen that torso a bit. It's just a learning piece.

The Goblin is GS pressed in an old Prince August mold and not something that I sculpted. I remember trying to cast them with tin back in the day, but it worked poorly due to lack of pressure. Came out as round blobs.

The Amazons are from StarGuard. They're a tad larger than 1:72. Maybe 1:70-71.

you DID remember to pre-heat, powder and clamp the molds, rigth? those things are notorious for bursting into small geysers of molten lead if cool and/or wet. anything cooler than boiling hot and wetter than a mummy's tongue is a potential hazard.

Arne said...

Yeah, I powdered and clamped. Not sure how much I heated them though. They were pretty hot after a few casts.

The molds are kind of dry and hard now. I'm not sure if they can be softened up somehow. I don't think they're distorted much, cuz casting GS stuff in them seems to work. Especially my new soft GS. My old GS was from '97 or so, and has hardened quite a bit. It's still useful if you need hard GS to work with right away though.

Have you considered investing in a set of dental picks? Best tools I've used during my sculpting experience.
